A 21-pound lobster estimated to be 110 years old was recently released back into the Atlantic Ocean by Peter’s Clam Bar in Hempstead, Long Island.
The lobster, Lorenzo, had lived at the restaurant for years and became a local attraction.
Owner Butch Yamali decided to return Lorenzo to the wild in celebration of National Lobster Day and Father’s Day, with help from local officials.
Lorenzo was released at the Atlantic Beach Reef to live out his remaining years in the sea.
