Kane Brown's song "Backseat Driver" is nearing number 1, he stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to share some backstory on the song and the project he's currently working on.
Besides music, Brown has been laser focused on his health in recent months He did a 60-hour fast, which the Bobby Bones Show's Abby recently did out of inspiration of Brown doing it. He said the fast really helped him kickstart his health and he had 7 other people on his team doing it with him. They were in Quebec City having a few days off from tour, so they were very bored doing the fast, which was the hardest part. Last time he was in studio, Brown said he wanted to get really big and he would eat two cheeseburgers a day on the road. But the fast made him go from wanting to lose weight to wanting to be a body builder. His first meal after the fast was chicken and vegetables, and he put pepper on the chicken which made his throat nearly close up. At this point in his health journey, he feels 10 years younger and it's gotten him into the science behind health so he's been doing a lot of research on it.
Besides health, Brown also loves cars. He recently purchased a Lamborghini, which he said he'd never do. But he ended up teaching himself how to invest and started investing, which led to him being able to buy himself the Lamborghini - Convertible Spyder. But he has a love/hate relationship with the car because being over 6 feet tall, he says there is no room. He has to slide down in the driver seat to be able to see out of the windshield. He got bored with the car after about 4 months and then put more money into it.
He's also about to start shooting a movie, he and actor Taylor Lautner are close friends, and in the movie they play best friends. Lautner is the main character and gets invited to a wedding, which Brown is the best friend who encourages Lautner to go to the wedding. It's called The Token Groomsman. Brown has no idea when the movie will come out, but they're about to start shooting it in Italy. He didn't have to audition for the role, but he did do some zooms for it, adding that Lautner really helped him.
"Backseat Driver," Brown's song that is about to go number 1 sounds like a song he would have written, but he didn't. It was going around for 4 to 5 years and a lot of artists put a hold on it, but nobody ever cut it. When asked why he decided to cut it, Brown shared that it was his story growing up. He can't take his kids to the McDonald's drive-thru because his wife would "kill him," but growing up his parents always took him to McDonald's. He has a new song coming out that he describes as an "old era of KB, but with a twist." He has disappeared on social media because he was going through some mental health stuff and fell off, but his goal with the new song is to really post on social media and blow this song up as much as possible.
The show learned a fun fact about Brown while he was in studio about his name. His mom was a huge wrestling fan and claimed to name him about Big Red Machine, but Brown thinks she lied about that. When he did his own research on the wrestler, he learned that Brown was born already before the wrestler came out. She also told him he would be named Skyler if he was a girl. He added that on his baseball team growing up, there was a kid named Kane White who was white and it was funny because he was Kane Brown and mixed.
