A Chinese zoo is ramping up against the rumors that its bears are actually human beings in costumes.
New video of the Hangzhou Zoo's sun bear Angela standing and waving is viral and casting even more doubt that the bruins are not human.
The zoo posted on Chinese social media from the perspective of a sun bear named Angela. It read "I got a call after work yesterday from the head of the zoo asking if I was being lazy and skipped work today and found a human to take my place."
The statement reiterated that Angela is "a sun bear - not a black bear, not a dog - a sun bear!"
Now an expert is backing the zoo.
Ashleigh Marshall, from Chester Zoo, told the BBC that the animal “is definitely a real bear,” although she agreed with dubious zoo visitors that sun bears do often “look a lot like people in their costumes.”
