As a response to a transgender contestant winning the Miss Netherlands pageant, Italy created a new rule that states that entrants in Miss Italy must be “a woman from birth.”
As a result, the Miss Italy pageant now has over 100 transgender men…who were all women at birth…that’ve entered the competition.
There are also now reports that some of these men have been “called to selections,” which is the next step in the contestant search.
