Canton Health Dept. COVID Vaccines Available This Week

COVID-19 Vaccination Appointments Available This Week

Canton City Public Health announced today that they have multiple COVID-19 vaccination appointments available on Tuesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 15 at their offices located at 420 Market Ave. N, Canton, Ohio.

These appointments are open to any Ohio resident over the age of 18. Canton City Public Health will be administering Moderna vaccine which is not approved for anyone under the age of 18. There is no charge for vaccination.

“We began conducting vaccination clinics on December 28, 2020 following the State’s phased approach which prioritized specific groups and ages for vaccination,” stated Jim Adams, Health Commissioner for Canton City Public Health. “We are at the point where, having met the phased guidance, our vaccination appointments are now more readily available and not restricted to residents of the City of Canton.”

Continuing, Mr. Adams stated, “The list of vaccine providers continues to grow. We encourage anyone who is age eligible to take advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated for COVID-19 whether that happens at Canton City Public Health for those 18 and older or through another provider.”

Individuals can easily schedule their appointment online by going to the Ohio Department of Health’s “Get The Shot” website at: https://gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov/  Those without access to a computer can call 330-451-6774 and follow the prompts. They will then be called to schedule an appointment.

“Vaccination is the latest tool in the tool box as we continue to fight this virus.” added Adams. “We ask everyone, including those who are vaccinated, to continue to practice the now common prevention steps recommended since the beginning of the pandemic - wash your hands, wear a face covering and practice 6 feet physical distance.”
